The frame rate is the frequency that indicates how many still images are present in each second of recording, and is usually given in frames per second. The classic TV picture has 25 FPS for the European PAL standard and 30 FPS for the NTSC standard. Action cameras often shoot at a higher frame rate, so that the video can be slowed in order to better capture fast action. In contrast, higher frame rates require more memory usage and are therefore more demanding in terms of playback and editing.
